There was a wonderful session on prayer at the Hearts at Home conference. It inspired me to be more deliberate about prayer, what I pray for, how I pray and why I pray. There are many reasons to pray but perhaps the most important reason is to deepen one's relationship with God. It is a balm for our souls.
